Escalante- Day 2

Look close for the Turkey Volture in the tree.
Amy, Whitney, Katie & "Freckles".




We woke up on day 2 to lots of rain. We were huddled under the canapy thinking,"What do we do now?" We were supposed to go to Mossy Caves. After grumbling and standing around for a while, we decided to drive an hour and a half to Kiva Koffeehouse & Calf Creek Ranch, just past Escalante. Both are owned by in-laws of the Hall's. What a gorgeous area! We walked along the creek and saw HUGE Turkey Vulture's. At the ranch, the kids enjoyed a rope swing & chickens. There was one named "Freckles" who wanted to be held most of the time. It was sprinkling there but soon turned to sunshine. I think it turned out to be our best day!
